Famous for being the location of Dante’s Paolo and Francesca story and for its wonderful Castle. In July, the medieval pageant “Seduzione al Castello” is staged.
Visitors should not miss the town’s main square and neo-classic portico, the Church of S. Michele and the Monastery of the Clarisse Nuns and San Francesco. In August, the “Palio del Daino” medieval pageant is staged.
A part of the “Italy’s most beautiful villages” circuit, Montefiore is one of the best-preserved and most charming towns of the Malatesta Seigniory. Below the castle overlooking the promontory, in July the Rocca di Luna cultural event is staged.
The ancient republic, nestled on the summit of Mount Titano, offers various tourist itineraries, like that linking the Three Fortresses at the very top of the Mountain. Not to be missed is the Basilica del Santo in neo-classic style and the ancient Monastery of Santa Chiara. For shopping fans, a walk amid the characteristics streets of the old-city centre, full of duty-free shops.
Dominated by the Malatesta Fortress on the Monte Giove hill, this town of medieval origin is stage to major events which every year attract thousands of visitors, such as the San Martino Fete in November and the International Theatre Festival in July.
